Have you ever thought of creating something AMAZING but stopped short because you felt it was just too far out? Take a look at these Musical Stairs For Fun!

When I first saw this video it made me smile, then it prompted me to share it with friends and family members. The reason, musical stairs for fun demonstrates the reality that no idea, no matter how imaginative or unconventional is too outrageous. Especially if it makes people happy!

Imagine if visionaries such as the Wright brothers, Albert Einstein or Thomas Edison gave up on their dreams. Our world would be quite a different place.
What if Steve Jobs had all the ideas for Apple and said, “forget it those can’t be done, no one has ever done it that way… I’m not the one to create it!” Consider Virgin Airlines, Starbucks, and McDonalds, all mega brands that began with one person’s unique vision. Next time you grab a Coke remember that it was stirred into creation in a large kettle by a country doctor in his kitchen!

Each of these success stories began with the spark of imagination. None of them would have become real without the belief in that initial impulse and the drive and determination to follow it through to reality.

If you are like me you may have lots of imaginative ideas in your mind. I had to do a lot of work on myself to believe that each of them is valid. My biggest challenge has always been self-doubt. Today it’s which ideas I will focus on and which ones will I let fall by the way side. I am choosing to create OurBrightSpot, because it’s my dream and most of all because I trust it will make lots of people happy!

So what’s your most outlandish dream? Do you believe it’s possible? My theory is that only you can create it otherwise it wouldn’t be in your mind it would be in someone else’s. Next time you doubt yourself remember this post and this video. If you have the dream, you can make your vision a reality. Believe it and work to make it so. When and if you begin to doubt yourself, take another look at this video.

People love to have fun and feel happy, add music and even climbing a staircase becomes a joyful experience. Check out this amazing experiment. Wouldn’t it be fantastic to have these everywhere…all around the globe!

Having trouble communicating with your partner?

Sometimes it seems like no matter what I say or how many times I try to explain myself, my husband doesn’t seem to understand my point of view. He wants to jump in and try to fix whatever is bothering me, when all I really need is for him to just listen…

This was frustrating for me until I understood that his way of helping me is by solving the problem. This is his way of demonstrating concern and showing me his love. On the other hand, for me, just being heard and understood makes me feel loved. How do we find common ground? It’s through learning and practicing better communication.

It’s funny how different men and women are, and yet it’s those differences that we depend upon and need most in each other….I’m learning to appreciate what my partner has to offer when I need his help, and I’m getting a lot better at sharing with him, just what I’m looking for so it can be a loving connection for both of us. Sometimes finding the loving connection is not about having the same point of view; it’s about coming from very different places and loving each other anyway.

Ever get bogged down in the day to day stuff and forget how important it is to seize the day? We all do it. We forget that the only time that matters is in the moment.
When was the last time you did something spontaneously, without planning and just for fun? What might you create or do right now?

I had tea the other day with my too close friends, Jeannie and Rebecca. Our time together began with light conversation, chatting over tea and snacks. After awhile it led to sharing our frustrations regarding lack of clarity in our next career steps. What began as a joyful experience had taken a turn to become serious and I arrived home with a slight headache.

Suddenly my perspective shifted after reading the following email sent by my husband.

READ THIS VERY SLOWLY… IT’S PRETTY PROFOUND.

Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven’t thought about it, don’t have it on their schedule, didn’t know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

I got to thinking one day about all those people on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I’ve tried to be a little more flexible.

How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn’t suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word ‘refrigeration’ mean nothing to you?

How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched ‘ Jeopardy ‘ on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said , ‘How about going to lunch in a half hour?’ She would gasp and stammer, ‘I can’t. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain’ And my personal favorite: ‘It’s Monday.’ She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because Americans cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches.. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We’ll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We’ll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet. We’ll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of ‘I’m going to,’ ‘I plan on,’ and ‘Someday, when things are settled down a bit.’

When anyone calls my ‘seize the moment’ friend , she is,open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you’re ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Rollerblades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It’s just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-Decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now…go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to…not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting?

Make sure you read this to the end; you will understand why I sent this to you.

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed butterfly’s erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask ‘How are you?’ Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, ‘We’ll do it tomorrow.’ And in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say ‘Hi’?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened
gift….Thrown away….. L ife is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over. Show your friends how much you care.

If it comes back to you, then you’ll know you have a circle of friends.

Looking for A Little Peace & Quiet? Have you ever heard the sound generated by a Tibetan Singing Bowl? Maybe you don’t know what I’m talking about so let me introduce you to the world of magical musical treats you can explore. Calm your mind and relax your body through meditation by using a singing bowl to focus your thoughts and feelings into the present moment.

Whether you practice Yoga or meditation or nothing of the kind… There’s no doubt that most people respond positively when they hear the spiritual chime of the bowl. I begin my day, end my day and even several times during the day, bring myself back to center in the present moment, by ringing my only 3″ in diameter little bowl. For me it has become a tool that I use daily and incorporate into my life at home and at work. I want to share this with you because I am seeing more and more how mediation, and centering myself with this simple of act of ringing the Tibetan Bowl make a difference for me. It may do the same for each of you.

Here’s a little history. The Tibetan Singing Bowl dates back over 3000 years, originated in Asia and spread worldwide as a tool for meditation, relaxation, music and well-being. It’s actually a bell that creates a unique vibrational frequency that resonates within the body…. Physics continues to connect western and eastern medicine, ideas and practices to show that certain sounds activate and heal specific chakras, energy centers in the body. There are 7 chakras, each has it’s own specific resonating sound, just like notes on a musical instrument.

Singing bowls are used today to promote mediation, relaxation and personal well-being. They treat cancer patients, post traumatic stress disorder and most of all help to relieve stress.A wide a range of health professionals, musicians, school teachers and spiritual leaders use them especially to facilitate group activities, focus attention and as a signal to begin and end periods of silent mediation.

It’s common to take a yoga class and have it begin and end with the ringing of the bell. Each bowl produces a unique sound that can not only be heard it can also be felt in the body. Close our eyes, and ring the bowl… all I ask is that you put your feet on the ground and take a few deep breath. RELAX……….

Are you someone who loves the status quo, or do you welcome unexpected surprises? Check out this Coca-Cola Happiness machine that totally surprizes these students!

I find most of my happiest moments have occurred with very little or no planning. Today the happiness machine lives in me, and I choose to activate mine by generating spontaneity for myself and others. Once you see the joy you can create in the moment you’ll want to generate more of it for yourself and everyone around you.

The truth is that I used to hate change because I was afraid of the unknown. I gave that up once I realized I had very little control over anything except myself and my attitude toward just about everything. Now I actually welcome surprises! I love living in the present moment and with that always comes lots of magically unexpected events and gift.

Here’s what I mean. I suffered from analysis paralysis… Should I do this, what if I don’t do that? In other words over thinking and self-doubt were joy killers for me. Then I learned to trust my instincts more and to go with my heart and my gut rather than my head. Yes, I still think things through, but I no longer dwell in uncertainty. I jump in and play! Once I make a decision I don’t second guess myself I make the best of it. And then if need be I make the better of it along the way, until everything turns out well in the long run.

If uncertainty makes you feel insecure and anxious, why not try looking at change from a different perspective. Greet the unknown with excitement and let spontaneity, growth and expansion allow you to feel totally alive. I think you’ll find a lot more to enjoy. Practice until you become a happiness producing machine!

What’s something in your life right now that’s weighing you down? Try this. Write it down on a piece of paper, read it a couple of times and then destroy it. That’s right! Rip up that paper, burn it or flush it. It no longer exists now for you. Instead, you have the opportunity to create something completely new.
Take that same situation and generate a happy perspective and a bright outcome. That’s what it means to become your own self-generating happiness machine.
Keep this up everyday and I promise you’ll get really good at it. Enjoy!

Are you a pessimist or an optimist? Seeing the glass half full, may not be a trait you are born with, but it is a choice you can decide to make that will determine your level of health and happiness. If you want to experience more joy daily, choose to be an optimist.

There’s no doubt that it’s going to rain. A sprinkle can become a shower which can quickly turn into a down pour. There may be thunder and lighting and even unexpected and devastating flooding. The pessimist will complain about the weather and may even stay inside. The optimist will zip up their slicker, step into those rubber boots and grab their yellow umbrella. How each of them sees the storm depends upon how they view it. Taken in stride and accepted as just part of life, the optimist adjusts and makes the best of it anyway.

And so it is with all life situations. We can fight against them or accept and flow with them. It’s may not be easy but it’s up to us, and the benefits are very clear.

I believe we can all learn to be more hopeful, despite our natural inclination, in the end you can choice to be an optimist.

Why bother to even think about it? Studies prove that being optimistic can help you lead a happier, healthier life.

I believe it’s within your power to see reality and still rise above any situation no matter how difficult it may seem. It begins when you change your perspective to view the benefits no matter what.

I believe that it’s essential to happiness to find the positive point of view no matter what the situation. I also believe that even if it’s not in your nature, you can learn to be an optimist.
